Last month Sarah and the rest of the Expressions team attended the Colgate Caring Dentist awards, hosted by Colgate and the Irish Dental Association, it is an end of year celebration of dental excellence and has a particular look at the deep concern and empathy that the profession has with the public. Whilst all dentists will have their patients well being at the absolute top of their priorities, there are a few instances when the dentist has to go above and beyond their normal remit, and these awards recognise dentist for those occasions. Sarah was nominated, as was the Expressions team and we were delighted to go and represent the clinic and also to get a chance to meet the other award nominees from our area and from the wider dental community.
The awards night was held at the end of November in Dublin in Ballsbridge, the awards are based on nominations by patients, so they mean a great deal to us and to all of the nominees. Most of the recipients were recognised for their work on a particular case, the winner of the overall award from the night and from the Dublin area Dr Seán Ó’Seachnasaí was a standout case, where he had helped in the rehabilitation of a stage 4 cancer survivor.
At the awards evening we were able to connect with other local winners and hear each of their stories, and were inspired to continue striving to provide a top quality aesthetic service in a warm and caring environment. As one of the youngest businesses at the awards, we were honoured to be even nominated for such a prestigious award and to be on a list with other such well established and well-regarded practises.
The judging panel praised Dr Ó’Seachnasaí for his caring, hands-on approach to the treatment, especially “his ability to see the need to care for the patient’s entire mental, physical and dental health”.
The awards, which were attended by over 400 people at the RDS enable patients to nominate dentists who have provided them with dental care above and beyond their expectations. We are using this award as the inspiration for a ferocious start to the new year, and hope to go from strength to strength in 2019. Thanks to everybody who put us forward for this. We hope to continue to make you proud of us in Roscrea in 2019.
